  7. My post seems to have lost part of the line that states, "The best rememdy for frozen ground that we have found over the my years in the biz is a high quality cordless drill."
  8. Welcome. Winter does present it's own set of problems, frozen ground, freezing temps, snow, and wind. The best remedy for frozen ground that we have found over the many years in the biz. Snow is a great helper in the wintertime, it can keep the ground under it from freezing, plus when you have plenty of snow you can just stick the small stuff right into the snow.
  9. Hello, and welcome to the business. Winter can sometimes present it's own set of problems. It is usually in February when I think, "What am I doing? It is 4 am, 4 degrees out, 4 or more inches of snow on the ground, why oh why am I doing this, I must be crazy" Then I remember all the smiles, fun and joy our displays bring and that makes it all worth while. This forum is a great tool for the industry, and a wonderful place to start. Good luck and see you around the forum.
  10. Hello, and welcome to the business. Unfortunately the official association never really got off the ground. Those of us who were founding members were a little disappointed when things fell through but such an association takes a lot of time and work to get started. I for one probably need to get busy and take the graphic off my site, as others probably should too. This forum is a great tool for the industry, and a wonderful place to start. Good luck and see you around the forum.
  11. Welcome baberthefirst. You will find a lot of information here on the wonderful lawn greeting forum. We have been in business for more than 25 years and have enjoyed every minute of it.
  12. Welcome to the club, we grew tired of having our brains picked for free, years ago. General information is not a problem detailed information on how we do certain things is different. We worked hard over the last 25+ years we have been in business to gain the knowledge that we have, with plenty of trial and error. Back then there was no internet to go to and find information on starting a lawn greeting business. We believe this detailed knowledge should be worth something.
  13. Hi Janet You are right about there being another handbook. While I highly recommend the one advertised here at the top of this page, the other handbook is offered by Karin the owner of The Stork Connection at: lawngreeting 101, I can not tell you anything about Karin's book as I have never read it. We offer a lawn greeting guide only to those who purchase our business opportunities. Hope this helps.
  14. With the 25 + years that A Nete Idea has been in business, there is one thing we can say about having a "target" group of customers, we have found that there is no rhythm nor reason to who will or will not order a display.
  15. PVC for large signs has 2 draw backs; the price and the fact that PVC is a poured product, the thicker the PVC the more likely that can have weak spots (air pockets) making it slightly more prone to breakage. We do use for our smaller theme items, keepsakes, and critters.
